“I am moved to tears – my son is living proof of what music can do for a child.”
For Linda and Geoffrey’s three children, music brought out their creativity, boosted their self-esteem and took them out of their shell.
“I want to share with you the positive impact that RPSM has had not only on my children, but also on us, their parents.
Geoffrey and I have three children whose lives took a positive shift last summer when they attended RPSM’s music camp at York University. It was an unforgettable life experience for them that led to enrolling in RPSM music classes. They are currently participating in the junior choir, ukulele class, keyboards & beats, and Early Childhood Music classes.
The RPSM lessons have offered my children another form of expression. These lessons have brought out my children’s creative sides, boosted their self-expression and self-esteem, and also has taken them out of their shell. We have noticed that music has become an integral part of our daily activities. We sing, we play and we dance to music ALL the time.
To the RPSM Choir Director at Jane-Finch, words can't express my awe in the work that you do. I have to say that my son is living proof of what music can do for a child. Over the last couple of years, he has had a tough time concentrating in school and being engaged. But what I saw for the second time in his life (the first time being RPSM music camp at York University), just moved me to tears. When he was singing in the choir, my son was concentrating, engaged and fully present. So thank you for doing a great job. I find that your approach is one where respect is underlined at every point of the journey.
All of the arts – music, theatre, dance – are great vehicles for self-expression. Music is a universal language that does and can include everyone. Thank you to those RPSM teachers and students who have dedicated their time and shared their expertise and resources to ensure that children get a holistic approach to learning music."
